Namib Desert, Namibia
The Namib Desert is on full display in this panoramic view from the International Space Station. The Namib Desert hugs the coastline of southwest Africa for more than 1000 miles. In the foreground, is a large sand sea made of some of the largest sand dunes on Earth. Several types of sand dunes occur here including star and linear dunes.
