STS062-083-064 Lake Sidney Lanier, Georgia, U.S.A. March 1994 Lake Sidney Lanier, showing a brown sediment plume at its northeast end, lies northeast of Atlanta. Immediately east of the lake is light, linear Interstate Highway 98S, which parallels U.S. Highway 23. Both of these northeast-southwest-aligned roadways connect Gainesville (near center) with Atlanta (not discernible). Power line rights-of-way cut through the darker, forested mountains slopes northwest of the lake. |
