Visible in this infrared photograph are the dam at the southern end of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, most of which is included in the Angelina National Forest, and the east Texas town of Jasper, southeast of the dam. Apparent are the uniform, darker stands of pine trees; areas of clear-cutting and logging (red and blue); and the shoreline of the reservoir.
