Featured in this southwest-looking, low-oblique photograph are Lake Powell and the southwest-flowing Colorado River that enters the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Visible are snow-covered Kaibab Plateau (top center), Rainbow Plateau, Monument Valley, and Black Mesa, somewhat discernible southeast of Lake Powell. Northwest of Lake Powell are Kaiparowits Plateau and Vermilion Cliffs. Snow-covered Navajo Mountain is apparent southeast of the confluence of the San Juan River and the Colorado River (near bottom center).
