The meandering Sacramento River, which flows north-northwest to south-southeast, is captured in this near-vertical photograph. Varied field patterns of the agriculturally rich Sacramento Valley are visible. Discernible are north-south-trending canals in the upper part of the photograph and southern Sutter Buttes in the upper left. Agricultural practices of this area include fruit and grain farming, dairy farming, and stock raising.
